One say it with flowers

Iraqi Shoe Thrower Pitching Detergent To Colombians from ANIMALnewyork.com on Vimeo.

The stamp against Bush, in the shape of conditioner announcement.

Also in the humor category, it would be necessary to place these words of Hugo Chávez:

"The squalid (opponents) are going well together to that it does not rain. But it is going to rain more, godfather, you are going to see, because God is bolivariano, God cannot be squalid. The nature is with us".

When the message of a politician deteriorates, his ideas cannot be very far.

We can already imagine what we would say in Spain if these words should go out of the mouth of Hope Aguirre. In fact, it is strange that he has not already said it.

Baker, Bigives and the everlasting Israel

They are not late very much in teaching his credentials. In a house seized to his (Palestinian) proprietors in the quarter of Sheikh Jarrah, in Jerusalem East, his new (Israeli) residents intone songs in honor of Baruch Goldstein, the colonó of Hebrón that killed 29 Palestinians in 1994 when they were praying.

In spite of being despicable, the scene is not compared at all with the habitual conduct in the Israeli governments. After all, these colonists of Jerusalem represent to the most extremist sectors of the Israeli society. They are those who have direct communication with God.

The Government, at least mostly, is not provided with a direct connection with the imaginary world of the deities. It is employed at another dimension. The current one and the previous ones it takes years, not decades, using the same stratagems with a view to obtaining the same target. When James Baker, secretary of the State in the times of George Bush, father, was coming to Jerusalem, the Government of Yitzhak Shamir was approving the construction of a new establishment establishment in Palestinian territory. This was almost 20 years ago and it keeps on happening.

Now it has appeared in Israel Joe Biden and the vice-president of the USA has had to prove the same medicine. A real humiliation that has done that They Bigive, that presents itself to himself as a "friend" of Israel, has used the word he 'condemns' to refer to the initiative.

They say that some chronicles that They should Bigive it has remained perplexed before this adventurousness. It is incredible, not in the literal sense of the term, that the North American politicians keep on demonstrating such an ignorance level at the time of valuing the behavior of the Israeli governments. Let's say that they believe their own propaganda: Israel wants the peace and only the intransigence of his enemies prevents from coming to an agreement. Meanwhile, Israel keeps on creating a reality that makes any attempt of peace impossible.

The Israelis want everything for them. They want the legitimacy that awards them the resolution of the UNO that made the creation of his State possible and they want to preserve the booty of war that they obtained in 1967. Some because God wants it. Others because it is the perfect answer to centuries of pursuit. It is the logic of the empire applied to a small country. The blindness is such that will end up by turning Israel into the perfect example of apartheid, much more finished than that of South Africa. The most amusing thing of all this is that the Israelis will accuse the others of having turned into a pariah.

Some of them say that Netanyahu did not know that the project of expansion of the establishments in Jerusalem was going to promise to be during the Biden visit. Few ones believe it. It is simply one more step in a project of colonization that began in 1967. Nothing of what the Palestinians do it will be able to prevent.

On Sundays magazines

In the Sunday ones of the English press, also there appear letters of the readership who complain about the prices of the products announced in the magazine. Pardon, it is not said announced. It is supposed that it is an information of the fashionable pages, fashion design and associates. This letter went out a few days ago in The Guardian:

Your stylists haven't understood the concept of green polytics, have they? To necklace for £ 195, shoes for £ 315? I think not. Not so surprising that to Labour supporter might spend £ 205 on sunglasses - they wouldn't want anyone looking them in the eye when war is mentioned, would they?

Maggie Hook

Enfield, Middlesex

Pardon, again. In the Sunday Spanish, rarely there appears a letter in which the content of some article is criticized. My skin problems were solved after reading to Rosa Montero and things for the style this is what it is possible to find.

Obviously, all these products appear to attract certain publicity. But at least they could pretend a little: no?

The photo of the suffering

A series of terrible photos on a stone beating in Somalia makes to think if some limit exists in the work of the photographer before a scene like this one. Does suppose his presence a way of collaborating with a brutal crime? Is it the only way of that something like that knows and of that in some moment someone could prevent from repeating itself? The photos appeared in the magazine of The Sunday Times before the indignation of some readership. Does he have right a newspaper to publish these images although they should be unbearable for many persons?

The author of this article reflects on the quandary and quotes a phrase of Susan Sontag who might apply herself for these images.

Part of the complex power of these photographs you eat from what Sontag calls the "provocation" inherent in all images of real suffering. The first of many questions they ask is: "Dog you look at this?" Perhaps Sontag you eat closest to articulating the mulberry tree dilemma at the heart of carry to extremes images of suffering when she writes: "There is shame grasp well ace shock in looking at the close-up of to real horror. Perhaps the only people with the right to look at images of suffering of this carries to extremes order plow those who could do something to alleviate it … or those who could learn from it. The rest of us plows voyeurs, whether or not we they piss to be."

Nevertheless, we all can learn of these images, extract conclusions that apuedan to apply to matters even not so dramatic. Do we stop being onlooking only that's why?

One was once a Government

The Government loses interest in the proposal to raise the retirement age, according to The Mail. And Corbacho contributes to the general calmness.

The technology surprises the Mossad

Robert Baer (ex-agent of the CIA and author of the book "See not Evil" on whom they were based, vaguely, to do the movie "Syriana") inspects in an article the operation of the Mossad in Dubai with which they eliminated Mahmoud al Mabhouh, and is thinking about discovering what is what worked badly.

His persons in charge managed to murder to the target, but certainly they were not trying to leave so many tracks and that the photos of a score of agents were appearing in newspapers of half a world.

If of what there was talking each other age to murder simply the Hamás leader, they might have done it of other forms, for example out of the hotel, and without leaving tracks. They were claiming that he was turning out to be dead and that nobody had the most minimal test to accuse Israel. Not so much for the international aftereffect, which also, but because that would create suspense in the Hamás leaders on the origin of the threat. In addition to the habitual accusations to Israel, they would have to think other hypothesis. In Middle East, nobody walks scarcely of enemies.

Baer thinks that it is the technology the one that made be derailed the original plans of the Mossad. They did not realize that the alertness technology has been perfected up to such a level that it is very difficult not to leave any track, analogical or digital, at the disposal of the authorities.

The Ist dog only speculate about where exactly the hit went wrong. But I would guess the assassins failed to account for the marked advance in technology. Not only were there closed-circuit TV in the for a three-quarter bed hotel where Mr. Mabhouh was assassinated and at the airport, but Dubai you have at its fingertips the best security consultants in the world. The consultants merely had to run advanced software through all of digital Dubaís dates before, during and after the assassination to connect the assassins in steal and it pleases.

For instance, to search of all cellular phone calls made in and around the hotel where Mr. Mabhouh was assassinated would show who had called the same number - reportedly to command post in Vienna. It would only be to matter then of tracking when and where calls were made from these phones, tying them to hotels where the team was operating or staying.

Beyond the murders that take place in a war stage, like the elimination of leading talibans or of To The Qaeda in Pakistan and Afghanistan with not crewed planes, Baer believes that the typical operations of the secret services are every day more difficult precisely for this intrusion of the technology. Every day is more difficult to kill the people of handmade form.
----

Another thing is that the reputation of the Mossad - nothing is eternal - is overvalued. Almost all his spies' network in Lebanon has gone away to the garete. This is a topic of the one that the Israeli press only has informed, and not very much, quoting foreign sources. Sign of that the military censoring is working by the piece.

The Icelanders stand firm

The Icelanders have voted in mass, in 93 %, against the agreement to which his Government came with the United Kingdom and Holland to return the money lost by the citizens of these countries in the bankruptcy of the financial system of Iceland. 93 % can look like a high percentage. The rare thing is that it was not 100 %. Since the consultation was summoned, the Government had resumed the negotiations with London and Copenhagen to improve the payment conditions and obtained a beginning of agreement.

And what has said the British Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling, hours after the foreseeable result was known?

Speaking on the BBC's Politics Show, Darling said: "You could not just go to to small country music like Iceland with to population the size of Wolverhampton and say: ' Look, repay all that money immediately'. "So wéve tried to be reasonable, the fundamental point for us is that we get our money back, but on the terms and conditions wére prewall to be flexible."

Wanted Darling, this was what they did and even went so far as to apply antiterrorist norms to block the assets, not many, of the Icelandic bank involved in the disaster. In Wolverhampton, there are no many terrorists, but I suppose that in Iceland neither.

It is necessary to remember two things. The British Government (as the Dutch) returned to citizens, companies and institutions the money that they had deposited in the bank, in whole nearly 3.500 million pounds sterling. In the easy epoch, even some town halls had seen attracted for suspiciously good conditions that were offering them.

Then, London demanded to Iceland the return of the money, started of the Government a quite onerous agreement that was approved in the Parliament, and only the unexpected denial of the president to certify it with his signature prevented from being ratified and forced to the call of the referendum.

London threatened Iceland to turn it into an international pariah. Thanks to the Icelandic president and his citizens, now the smokes have bent. Perhaps have to pay, but as now Darling says "in many, many years". To have started round there.
----

Most of the German newspapers give them the account. Die Tageszeitung:

"(Iceland's voters made) to wise decision. Otherwise, they would have destroyed their country music. It's bad enough that, two years ago, London and The Hague made up for the losses of their citizens who had invested in the collapsed Icesave bank. Why should to country music compensate investors who voluntarily putt to yourself their money at risk in the hopes of making exorbitant profits? Those who hand their money over to shady speculators do so at their own risk. Demanding the lost money from every single Icelander goes against the logic of market capitalism."

The logic of the modern capitalism only establishes the collective responsibility in case of losses. If you aim that it might be applied also with the benefits, probably apply the antiterrorist law to you, although you belong to Wolverhampton.

The collapse of the pound sterling (prologue)

I believe that it is time for someone to call the MI5.

The hour of the truth has come for the pound sterling and the British economy and the expectations are not good at all. The quotation of the pound sterling has fallen down today to his rock bottom opposite to the dollar in the last ten months exceeding the barrier of 1,50 dollars up to staying in 1,47. It has been the worst evolution in only one day from January, 2009. Opposite to the euro, the descent came up to a 0,91 pounds value. The analysts are sure that the fall will not stop.

If the pound sterling has always been a rock that was showing the soundness of his economy, now the cracks are so numerous that there are great those who think that the markets soon will apply to Great Britain the same harassment that suffers Greece. Not in vain his budget deficit will reach at the end of exercise 12,6 % of the GDP, to only one tenth of the Greek number.

The descent has been the form in which the markets have received the last electoral opinion poll that places the Labours Parties members to only two points of the conservatives. In these conditions, no party would obtain the absolute majority. A stage of political instability would be more difficult that the new Government will approve the clipping of the necessary public expenditure for sanear the public accounts.

Another way of saying it is that the markets were betting for a victory of the tories (that have promised expense clippings with more intensity that the Labours Parties members) that now it is not so clear that it is going to take place.

“This morning (per yesterday) we have been witnesses of what we might call the beginning of the collapse of the pound sterling”, has said Nick Beecroft, of Saxo Bank. It does not discard that very quickly it falls down to 1,40 opposite to the dollar and to 1,20 in summer.

Alarmist can dream, but other analysts coincide that the country is not going to be able to continue for much time at his current debt levels. “The United Kingdom has lived of his economic glories of the past and that cannot continue a lot of time”, said James Hughes, economist chief of Cardinal Black Swan in a report known Friday. “More soon or earlier, the status of financial refuge that has the pound sterling will be deteriorating while there is known the authentic scope of his structural deficit”.

The currency will not be the only victim of this situation. In fact, the cost of the financing of the debt also has gone off. From November, the differential with the German bonds to ten years has gone on from 0,35 points to 0,90, what it places to him in a position similar to that of Italy. As the agency of qualification S&P grants Italy the rating A +, one does not discard that AAA whom the United Kingdom enjoys could turn degraded in the next months. A blog of Financial Times emphasizes it.

And, as would say Pepe Blanco, this cannot be a coincidence. Are the Anglo-Saxons conspiring against themselves?

Pleasantries of the USSR

Pleasantries of the Soviet epoch on account of the publication of this book.

Leonid Brezhnev pays to state visit to France and he's given to VIP guided tour of Paris. He's conducted round the splendors of the Élysée Palace, but remains expert stony-faced expert ever. He's shown the masterpieces of the Louvre, but the curators fail to get any reaction out of him. He's taken to the Arc de Triomphe, but displays not the slightest interest.

Eventually, the official motorcade drives him to the foot of the Eiffel Tower, where Brezhnev finally stares up in amazement and astonishment. Is turns to his French hosts and asks in bewilderment: "But, Paris is to city of 9 million people... surely you need resides than one watchtower?"

Wonderful mistakes

NYT-Clinton-Photo-Caption.jpg

In the The New York Times web this morning (image completes). Attentive on the foot of photo.

They already call him the best mistake of all the times. If it it is not, enough approaches.

Up to where can the war movies come

Abu Muqawama puts to us the beginning of this marvelous movie that is "The violent ones of Kelly" to demonstrate that the war movies do not have to be realists to be..., that, marvelous.

There are some articles and comments that they quote to North American soldiers destined in Iraq and Afghanistan that question the movie "The Hurt Locker", one of the favorites in the Oscars of this year. All this has a reek of revenge of last hour against a movie that does not have a clear ideological message. As already not estila to do things as "Green berets", with that John Wayne tried to whiten the war of Vietnam, in these cases to assume that a movie of this topic does not have ideological load means that it is not clearly antiwarlike, as if they it were different on the war of Iraq released in the last three years.

They all smashed in box office, although it is necessary to aim that they were quite bad, except "In the Elah vale". And the last one was not also going to receive applauses with this tremendous final scene in which Tommy Lee Jones hoists of the reverse the flag of the USA to avert the anger that he feels therefore the Army or the war did with his deceased son (briefly, to turn it into a prostitute's son).

The case is that we are in period of the Oscars, what means that the campaigns of dirty war against the candidates rivals, that not desmerecen nothing of those who are done in the real world, they are working to full yield. And if there is some movie of Harvey Weinstein got into the career of the awards (in this case, "Inglorious Basterds"), we can give for fact that letters with four pens are appearing in the mailboxes of half a Hollywood.

The script of "The Hurt Locker" belongs to a journalist freelance that was fixed in a military unit dedicated to deactivating the bombs and explosive pitfalls that the Iraqi rebellion sowed throughout the country. The critics have praised in general his verisimilitude, although it is slightly probable that some of them has been neutralizing explosives close to Ramadi. With that they refer to that the movie is credible, that it does not violate that that is called in English "the suspension of disbelief". Namely we are ready to believe authentically incredible things when we see a movie, but whenever they have a plot logic inside the plot of the movie.

It works of different form in every cinematographic genre. Obviously, if we see "The star wars" and there is a type as Darth Vader before which some of them suffer sudden and lethal asthma attacks, we are not going to worry because the shots of the weapon are heard in the space. Once one enters the world of the fantasy, the laws of the physics matter less (to a certain extent). But if someone says that a crewed ship is going to penetrate into the heart of the Earth to attack the nucleus with nuclear weapons, well, this is already to go too much background.

The military men those who do not like "The Hurt Locker" (curiously, Robert Gates does not think the same) say that it is not a faithful portrait of his work. They are those who risk his life to finish with the IED before these irritate them in pieces. They are not cowboys, they are not crazy, are professional that take his work with the whole coldness that a human being can show to 40 temperature grades and before a bomb that, if he is wrong, will turn it into flour in a moment.

Certainly, only it was missing. If it was not like that, some time ago that would be cold meat. The protagonist of the movie is another thing. Disfunctional, they call it. Therefore, it is like a goat. He does not want to die (the suicide of a shot would be a cleaner and less bothersome option), but he has adopted an attitude that he makes doubt on his mental stability. It has escaped so many times that begins believing that it is infallible.

In the war, the valor and the madness they are separated by a very thin thread. The only ones that are really sane are the cowards. The armies do not promote this class of lucidity. They would remain without welded very quickly. Before some missions, the soldiers would say: I believe that this time I happen, my captain, of this one we cannot go out alive and it does not long to me that the intestines leave my body. They have a horrible aspect, but I have taken esteem to them.

Neither it is convenient for them that the troop loses completely the head. The one who should doubt that must only remember the high number of officials' casualties in Vietnam died to hands of his soldiers. They even put a name: fragging.

"The Hurt Locker" goes so far as up to where it can come. One takes a few licenses and reflects it it surrounds that it is possible to be of going on to another side in a war, although you are still alive. So that the movies movies were completely real, they would have to include the smell (slightly quite unviable) and show such a grade of violence that they would be unbearable of seeing. It is one of the reasons, obviously not the only one, for that the wars keep on existing.

The method Paxman

What does the presenter covers with stars of a chain of television when he has to interview directly his maximum chief? It might do what Jeremy Paxman did on Tuesday in Newsnight with Mark Thompson, general manager of the BBC. But it is slightly probable. The third grade that Paxman applied to Thompson would be impossible in another chain than it is not precisely the BBC.

Thompson was in the program to realize on the due clipping of expenses that includes the closing of 6 Music, a digital broadcasting station of excellent musical programming (disclaimer: the one to that I usually listen) and in that even Jarvis Cocker presents a program every Sunday. The BBC has to cut his budget away but most of the press interpret that it is an attempt of ingratiating itself with the tories with a view to his possible victory in the next elections and of the blindfold rather than the wound putting itself.

The reaction in Facebook has been shining.

In the iPlayer of the BBC, it is possible to see the entire interview. For those who live out of Great Britain, here there is a small fragment of two minutes. Do not get lost the Paxman face when he inspects other radio channels or television of the public enterprise, asking him why the clipping is not applied in other parts of the programming.

Thompson (I weld: 800.000 pounds per year) he might be wondering: why do I leave that this type to which I pay a million pounds sterling to the year (at least, they say that that he receives Paxman) applies this correction to me? But the one who pays is not Thompson, but the taxpayer straight across a valuation.

The method Paxman is already famous in the BBC. The journalist takes his defects as anyone (the pedantic word sometimes does not come to him badly) and sometimes his aggressiveness is exaggerated, but it does not leave that the interviewees go away alive, especially in case of politicians, when they try to commit the worst possible sin: not to answer to the question.

This is what it spent in the almost mythical interview to the conservative minister Michael Howard in 1997. Repeatedly, it rose the same question to him twelve times followed.

Last year, it applied the same treatment to the leading Tory William Hague.

Sighs of Spain

In the hem valleinclanesco of the Spanish politics, and with the one that is falling down, there is an intense polemic on... the bulls. Certainly it is the most important thing. The maltreatment of the animals, the traditions Spanish, those are the things that worry right now the people.

And in one week with friendly games of the selections and therefore without Champions League, in these brief moments of break, Rajoy has something that to say.

Salomé García:

Rajoy, since it corresponds to the indisputable leader of the divided only one capable of avoiding the Balkanization of the skin of bull, loads in a few public declarations against the bravery of the philosopher Jesus Mosterín in the Catalan chamber, in which he compared the slaughter of the bull with other foreign traditions like the ablation of the clitoris. For the leader of the PP, it was a similar "odious" and “unacceptable one“. It still did one more effort in his natural sheepishness, and added that the matter is “to get indignant”, although it did not reveal if it would go so far as to do it. This is what it loses to him, which it does not finish off

The clitoris. For God's sake, that Financial Times does not inform that we kill the time with these things.

A breather for Greece

The apocalypse was not as close as they were saying. Greece placed yesterday with facility a bonds emission at the price of 5.000 million euros and most of the investors were proceeding of out. The Germans keep on saying that they are going to put not even an euro, but the German central bank already deals for his account with denying this intention buying Greek debt. It is after all a good business because the Greeks turn out to be forced to pay an interest rate major than other European countries that spend for better economic conditions.

There will have had an important influence the Greek declaration of which if they need funds they will come to the IMF without importing for them if that gives bad image to the financial reputation of the EU. The Greeks have more important things of which to deal that the solvency of the euro. They already know in any case that any help will not work out for them free.

What already has no sense is that the Greeks keep on worrying therefore they say in Germany. There is never going to be scarcity of stupid declarations, like that of two German deputies who propose to Greece to sell some of his islands in the Aegean Sea to collect funds.

What has to do Greece is the hanging task for any country that has finished a dark stage characterized by the corruption and the easy money.
----

Interview with the Greek writer Petros Markaris:

Spiegel: According to Transparency International, the average Greek pays over € 1,000 each year in bribes for personnel reasons. Over the last two years, these appear have jumped sharply. Greek crime fiction also features to lot of fakelakis, envelopes bulging with bribe money. What role does corruption play in everyday Greek life?

Markaris: Corruption permeates all of Greek society. If the only way to get swift treatment in to Greek hospital is to bribe someone, it is really to problem of the state. Even the respectable citizen is given up hope and believes that evading taxes is justifiable. Expert I have sees it, that is the only way to get his money back. From this arises to society in which everyone shares in the guilt. The mentality in Greece needs to be radically reformed. Ím worried that only the symptoms of the crisis - and not the you cause - will be cured now.

It censures in Valencia

The excellent photo of Vicent Bosh appears in the catalog of the exhibition 'Fragments d'un any', who gathers the work of 38 Valencian photojournalists in 2009. In Four Types, they tell how the catalog has been done, a product of many quality.

The photo is in the catalog, but not in the exhibition because someone has ordered to withdraw 10 of 91 photos., the Valencian PP does not like that there are remembered images related to the case Gurtel. Not with suits. In the PP, you speak to them about suits and they begin becoming already nervous thought about the invoices.

The exhibition takes place in the Museu Valencia of the Il · lustració i the Modernitat (Muvim) of Valencia, dependent on the Delegation. Enlightenment and modernity are two concepts that the PP has always related to the censoring. With the censoring that it is necessary to exercise so that the modernity is not raised to the beards.

Rajoy has said in some occasion that Valencia is a big shop window to appreciate what the PP can do for Spain. He does not lack reason.

Iraq? Tony's things

Gordon Brown, before the commission of investigation of the war of Iraq:

The prime minister has done an exercise of rewriting of the history on having paid little attention to the weapons of mass destruction, the principal reason to invade Iraq, according to Blair. He says that the invasion was “the correct decision taken for the correct reasons”. What were these reasons? “To impose the will of the international community”, in Brown words, on Sadam Hussein, which had refused to fulfill the resolutions of United Nations.

Brown has supported the fiction of which up to the last weekend previous to the invasion it had hopes that the crisis was solved by diplomatic river beds. As Blair, blames of everything to France and his announcement of veto to the second resolution that was justifying the war.

When the commission has reminded to him that the French only wanted more time so that the inspectors were doing his work, Brown has limited himself to answering that he did not know it because he was not the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

It continues in The Pub.

The elections of Iraq

After a lot of time, good news about Iraq. I do not refer to the traditional holders in electoral days since those of this Sunday - Millions of Iraqis defy bomb and rocket attacks to votes - but to the idea of that the Iraqi Government has reached the sufficient force as not to depend on a militia to finish with his enemies not of the North American troops to impose the safety.

Nir Rosen is one of the best journalists who has happened for Iraq, as I have already said one day here, and of the most critical with the occupation of Iraq. His current analysis is different from the one that appears in all the news that they accompany to the offenses of last weeks. After many conversations with Iraqis, he is thinking about appreciating a change in the attitude of the people towards his Government and in the aptitude of this one to fulfill his functions.

Iraqis on the street plows not longer scared of rival militias so much, or of being exterminated and they not longer have expert much support for the religious parties. Maliki is still perceived by many to be not very sectarian and not very religious, and resides of to "nationalist." Another thing people would notice if they focused on "the street" is that the militias plows finished, the Awakening Groups/SOIs plows finished, so violence is limited to assassinations with silencers and sticky bombs and the occasional spectacular terrorist attack - all manageable and not strategically important, even if tragic. Politicians might be talking the sectarian talk but Iraqis have grown very cynical.

The safety keeps on being the biggest worry of the Iraqis, but at low levels that two years ago.

Rosen believes that the domain chií is insured. The force of the numbers does not leave place to doubts. Maliki has turned into the national letter. The effectiveness of his Government in last three years guarantees his position. He insured himself this identity when he negotiated from a force position the agreement on the presence of the North American troops in the last months of the Administration of Bush.

When Obama came to the power, the North American press did not lose time in wondering up to where the new president would dare to come in the process of retreat of the troops. Always thinking that any thing that should happen in Washington is more important that what it happens in the rest of the world, they did not know that the letters of the game were already on the table. Maliki insured himself his legitimacy imposing a few period that, on the other hand, it was not also interesting to Obama to be late.

Rosen affirms that the suníes are neutralized politically. The elimination of a high number of candidates suníes for his supposed relation with the Baas had provoked in another time an authentic stir. Now it has not been like that. The ancient tribal militias suníes that were allied by the North American Army to face the groups yihadistas have been disappearing in the last years. The promises that received from Washington have not been fulfilled, because the Government of Maliki never had the minor intention of respecting them. Sometimes, it seemed that these militias could take the weapon again against the Government, and return to the rebellion from which in fact they were coming, but this possibility never went so far as to turn into a reality.

The end of the sectarian Iraq does not mean that the political conciliation between suníes and chiíes is a fact. Of entry, it stays without solving the relation of the Kurds with the new Iraqi State and the question of the city of Kirkuk. In contrast to the previous legislative elections, yes there will be a wide presence of parties suníes that will be able to have an excellent role in the game of alliances that takes place in the Parliament.

Juan Cole raises that the associates chiíes that Maliki will need to govern will demand from him that it should do honor to his nationalistic credentials and should accelerate the North American retreat. These associates are the movement of To The Sáder and the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq. The latter party already does not take Abd as a leader to the-Aziz To The Hakim (he died for a cancer) and his son has defended a position more decided against the USA. Maliki is not in the hurry because the North Americans are already irrelevant in the Iraqi political game. The parties that will govern after these elections have to pay more attention to his relations with Teheran than with Washington.

It is not anything that many mass media of the USA realize still very well.

They say some chronicles that a passion has not been appreciated in the votings seemed to that of 2005. That is good. One year after these elections, there broke loose a brutal civil war that provoked a butcher's shop, including the ethnic purge of a part of Baghdad. It is necessary to remember an idea repeated often and ignored some others. The elections are not a miraculous remedy which result is always an increase of the democracy. If there is no political process behind that endorses them, only they serve to postpone the solution.

Jeff Bridges

If Jeff Bridges had paid attention to everything what has been written on him, he would have read in too much occasions for that there was still waiting the big role that should transform his career. In certain way, "The big Lebowski" fulfilled this condition, but "Crazy Heart" has been the movie that has rewarded him fully.

There turns out to be an example of poetical justice the one that the Oscar has got for a role that cannot be understood without the music. To his step along London to present the movie, Bridges was mentioning that he had doubted for years if he wanted to devote himself to the movies, and that the music had been his first passion.

"I love the music so much and it was wanting of that it was going out well that goes so far as to worry", he said on this small project that to point was of remaining buried on the market of the DVD. It was his interpretation what it saved to the movie and Hollywood has rewarded it with an Oscar.

I was in one of the interviews, along with a group of four or five journalists, which gave Bridges in London. It was a pleasure, and a mitigation, that the actor was taking the conversation with so many desire. For the actors, debit of being an authentic pain to spend most of the day receiving journalists, listening sometimes to the same questions, not all intelligent ones, and trying to sell the movie, which is of what it is a question. But there are some of them, as Bridges, which take it with humor, take his time to answer and do not have disadvantage of speaking about other movies of the past.

Bridge spoke about "Crazy Heart" and about other things. This is what I wrote on the interview. And yes, every it looks alike more to The Dude, the personage of "The big Lebowski", although I believe that the beard takes it as the shooting of the remake of "Value of law" with the brothers Coen.
